The screenshot software for DYMO doesn’t work all that well. That can be an issue a lot of people have an issue with. Then you have to screenshot and crop the label. There don’t have a way to change the size to 4″ x 6″ and just the label. That should be on an 8 1/2 ” x 11″ paper. If a website you use for mailing gives you a sideways label. The only issue is if you use screenshots and try to print a label this way. These printers are high printed since you save so much money and time from buying INK. My friend who does eCommerce also recommended DYMO LabelWriter 4XL. I started selling products online needed a label printer. I used Zebra before for my work and some other printer I don’t remember the name of. It’s humid here but somehow I never thought of that myself. Hats off to the Office Depot associate who advised me to store it in a Ziploc bag with desiccant packs so humidity doesn’t get to it. I haven’t printed from a mobile device yet but the desktop app works acceptably. I can see where this might seem unacceptable if you print short labels one at a time but you just have to understand why and try to work around it by following their suggestions. It is unavoidable so the reviews panning this waste are complaining about something that nothing can be done about.Īt best they might be able to reduce this by a few millimeters without a complete redesign of the cartridges and machine. If you print multiple labels at the same time this ‘waste’ is not necessary between labels because this ‘waste’ area will be part of the next label. The tape has to be fed this distance to cut the printed label at the right edge. The waste is the distance from the cutter to the left edge of the next label and is due to the distance between the print head within the cartridge and the cutter that is outside the cartridge. You incur about an inch of waste per label and if you are printing multiple labels there are documented settings that can be tweaked to minimize this waste. I figured it out after playing with it for a bit. The app (macOS) is fairly straightforward but could use some documentation with respect to how things work.
So far it works very well and meets my expectations. I looked at less expensive models since I don’t really print labels that often and really wanted the Cube model which they didn’t have in stock but the temptation was too great. What's New in Version 1.9.I let the magic smoke out of my antique PT-10 plugging an AC adaptor in that was polarized incorrectly so I purchased this, succumbing to the Siren song of more features, greater tape selection, included AC adaptor and ability to print from mobile device or computer.
